You know those hard cases that DMV plungers come in? They're great for storage if you're following protocol, but not necessarily when you're in a hurry or inclined to be more lax about plunger care.
Using this vented case can help ensure that you're not locking moisture into a case with your plunger - a setup for bacteria or mold.
Proper care and storage of plungers means cleaning AND drying them after each use. If you follow that practice carefully, then storing DMV plungers individually in the sealed cases that they come in should be fine.
Personally, I prefer to use this case rather than the DMV cases for storage and travel because it actually stays closed! DMV plunger cases tend to come apart in any zipped bag I put them in, which means lots of extra cleaning.
